Interact Software charity fundraiser Trafford Rape Crisis

Global software organisation Interact raises over £500 for TRC at quarterly fundraiser

The intranet software company, headquartered in Altrincham, selected TRC as its dedicated charity and undertook a day of activities to raise funds for the cause.

The team at Trafford Rape Crisis would like to extend its thanks to staff and management of Interact Software, who held a day-long fundraiser at its headquarters in Altrincham on 27th October.

The event was championed and run by one of our volunteers, Becki Hall, who works as Senior Marketing Manager at the organization.

Staff from both the UK and US office in New York participated in the event, which included a ‘Guess who?’ baby wall and bake sale, a ticket giveaway for The Lowry, a pub quiz, ‘Guess how many sweets in the jar’ competition, and a closed bid for a day’s annual leave. In total, the day finished with a total of £520 raised for Trafford Rape Crisis.

“Although we are affiliated with Rape Crisis England and Wales, we are an independent and small charity, responsible for raising our own funding,” explains TRC Centre Manager, Fiaza.

“We also provide all our services free-of-charge to the women who need us. This means every single penny counts and events and contributions like this are hugely valued and important to us. We are tremendously grateful to the whole team at Interact for selecting TRC as their charity of choice and raising so much for us.”

Earlier this year, Interact Software also donated an intranet platform to TRC, which will help volunteers and workers at the charity connect, support, and upskill in their roles. The intranet, named ‘BESS’ as an acronym of the charity’s aims to ‘Believe, Empower, Support and Speak Out’, is set to launch later this month.

TRC volunteer and Interact employee Becki talks about the event:

“It was absolutely incredible to see the level of support from across the business for the event.

“Although we’re a global organisation, we’re mid-sized in terms of our employee numbers so to raise such a phenomenal amount was incredible. Staff also contributed in other ways by baking, by sending in their baby pictures and generally by offering their support and raising awareness.

“It means a huge amount to me personally and is a real reflection of the support and level of corporate social awareness Interact has as an employer. I’m so grateful to all my colleagues for everything they did to contribute to the day and the support I received from management too.

“Even the leftover cake didn’t go to waste – I dropped it at the local A&E department to give nurses and staff a boost before their night shift. It was definitely well-received!”

Thank you to all at Interact Software for the money raised and the support to us as a local charity!
